Trad Camp

Young Folks Learning Old Stuff: Traditional Folk Music Instruction for 7 to 18 Year Olds

July 26th through July 30th from 9am to 3pm at Memorial Auditorium in Burlington

Instructors include Lausanne Allen, Joanne Garton, Sarah Hotchkiss, Laura Markowitz, Peter Macfarlane, Brian Perkins, Roger Perrault, Karen Sutherland, Pete Sutherland, Beth Telford and Katie Trautz.

Presented by Young Tradition Vermont and Burlington Parks and Recreation

A day camp presented by Burlington Parks and Recreation and Young Tradition Vermont.  Learn to play traditional dance tunes from Irish, Cape Breton, Scottish, Quebecoise, and beyond.  Four sessions per day at three ability levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced.  Exceptional instructors who are professional musicians from the region.  Special sessions on the history of traditional music, playing harmony, and more.  Noon hour concerts and dances with the Bosnian Lilies, Village Harmony, Mary Wesley and others.  Friday afternoon potluck and showcase from 3pm to 5pm.
